MADDIE PIRRI NAMED LITTLE EAST
CONFERENCE WOMEN’S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK |

Providence, RI –
Rhode Island College freshman goalkeeper Maddie Pirri (Bristol,
RI) was named the Little East Conference Women’s Soccer
Defensive Player of the Week for her performance in two games. She
was named the LEC’s Rookie of the Week earlier this season. |
|
|
|
Pirri
continued her stellar play between the posts this past week, holding
the opposition scoreless for 180 minutes. She registered eight saves
in the club’s, 2-0, win at Westfield State on Oct. 16, while turning
back six against Little East Conference rival Eastern Connecticut in
a 1-0 victory on Oct. 20. Pirri has yet to surrender a goal in the
conference circuit, sporting a pair of shutout wins. |

She is 5-3
with three shutouts, a 0.85 goals against average and a .902 save
percentage through 634:18 of action in nine games. |
|
|
|
Head Coach
Denis Chartier’s team is currently 8-7-1 overall and 4-2 in the
Little East. RIC’s four LEC wins are the most for a season in
program history. In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will play
at Salem State on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 4 p.m. |
