12 Rhode Island College Student-Athletes Named to Little East Conference Fall All-Academic Team

 

 

 

Providence, RI—The Little East Conference office recently announced the honorees for the inaugural All-Academic teams for the 2007 fall season and 12 Rhode Island College student-athletes were selected.

 

 

 

Student-athletes earned recognition on the all-academic teams based on the following criteria: at least a sophomore academic and athletic standing, and a minimum cumulative grade point average of a 3.2. The conference office honored student-athletes in the following seven sponsored sports: field hockey, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

 

 

The following RIC student-athletes were recognized:

 

Men’s Cross Country: Junior Greg Ahnrud (Chepachet, RI) and senior Mike Van Gieson (Foster, RI).

 

Women’s Cross Country: Sophomore Christine Smith (Foster, RI) and sophomore Kendra DeGiulio (Warwick, RI).

 

Men’s Soccer: Sophomore Jose Talavera (Providence, RI).

 

Women’s Soccer: Senior Mallary Bileau (Woonsocket, RI), senior Michaela Bileau (Woonsocket, RI) and junior Krissie Pyzynski (Bristol, CT).

 

Women’s Tennis: Sophomore Julie Bannon (Narragansett, RI).

 

Women’s Volleyball: Sophomore Sharon Corriveau (Coventry, RI), senior Sherri Heard (Coventry, RI) and senior Jeanne Rosa (Milford, CT).
