Roger
Williams (5-1) jumped all over the Anchorwomen (0-3) after the
opening draw, scoring 15 seconds into the contest on senior attack
Kara Smolca’s (Gaithersburg, MD) tally. The Hawks did not let
up, opening up a 10-0 advantage through the first 23:30. The
Anchorwomen finally stopped the offensive onslaught as senior
midfielder Sydney Culbertson (North Kingstown, RI) and
classmate attack Sherri Heard (Coventry, RI) scored at 4:22
and 1:26, respectively. Roger Williams wouldn’t be held down as
freshman midfielder Claire Halliday (Trenton, NJ) and senior
midfielder Kary Rodgers (Brookfield, CT) each recorded their
second goal of the half with 38 and 14 seconds left in the half,
respectively, as RWU took a 13-2 lead into intermission. |

The second
half offered no relief to Rhode Island College as Roger Williams
tallied four straight times. Culbertson scored twice and freshman
attack Suany Almonte (Warwick, RI) added a marker of her own
over the final 23 minutes to close out the game’s scoring. |

Roger
Williams outshot the Anchorwomen, 33-10. Eleven different Hawks
registered at least one point, led by Rodgers (2-2-4) and junior
midfielder Jackie Criss (Westwood, MA) (1-3-4) with four
points apiece. Sophomore attack Natasha Billie’s (Pt. Pleasant,
NJ) led RWU with a hat trick. Sophomore attack Kasey Beckwith
(Franklin, CT) led all players with seven draw controls. |

sophomore goalkeeper Amanda Magee (Columbus, NJ) made three
