RIC MEN’S TRACK PLACES SIXTH
AT COAST GUARD INVITATIONAL

 

 

 

New London, CT—The Rhode Island College men’s outdoor track and field team placed sixth (11 teams) with a score of 38.0 at the Coast Guard Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The host’s won the meet with a score of 234.50.

 

 

 

Sophomore Max Willett (Portsmouth, RI) led the way for the Anchormen, placing second (1.91 meters) in the high jump and fifth  (6.37 meters) in the long jump.

 

 

Junior Dante Lopardo (Johnston, RI) wasn’t far behind, placing fourth in the high jump (1.86 meters) and seventh (6.28 meters) in the long jump.

 

Senior Charles Kuti (Providence, RI) placed ninth in the 100 meters (11.62), 11th in the 200 meters (23.46) and sixth in the long jump (6.34 meters).

 

Senior Mike Van Gieson (Hope, RI) placed seventh (1:57.52) in the 800 meters, while freshman Mike Macedo (North Scituate, RI) placed fifth (16:15.59) in the 5,000 meters.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday, Apr. 12.
