ANCHORMEN BREAK 4x100 RELAY
RECORD
AT WESLEYAN INVITATIONAL
|

|
Providence, RI—The
Rhode Island College men’s outdoor track and field team competed at
the Swanson Invitational, hosted by Wesleyan on Saturday, Apr. 12.
It was an individual meet with no team scoring. |
|
|
|
|
|
The 4x100 meter relay squad, composed of sophomore
Kwame Gyampo (Providence, RI), sophomore Kyle Duguay
(Cumberland, RI), senior Charles Kuti (Providence, RI)
and sophomore Max Willett (Portsmouth, RI), placed third with
a time of 43.76, breaking the previous mark of 43.86, established in
1994. |

The 4x400 meter relay squad, composed of junior
Hunter Stewart (Foster, RI), senior Mike Van Gieson (Foster,
RI), Kuti and freshman Adilson Alves (Central Falls, RI),
placed second with a time of 3:30.89. |

|
|
|
It was an outstanding meet for the Anchormen with
some impressive individual efforts as well. |
|
|
|
RIC placed first and second in the high jump as
junior Dante Lopardo (Johnston, RI) and Willett logged 1.95
and 1.90-meter efforts, respectively. Willett also placed fourth in
the javelin with a distance of 47.43 meters. |
|
|
|
Stewart placed second in the 800 meters with a time
of 1:59.62. |
|
|
|
Senior James Polak (Smithfield, RI) placed
third in the discus and sixth in the hammer with distances of 35.54
and 33.53 meters, respectively. |
|
|
|
In upcoming action, RIC will compete at the Silfen
Invitational, hosted by Connecticut College on Saturday, Apr. 19. |
