Anchorwomen are riding a 19-game winning streak, raising their
overall record to 24-4, including an 18-0 mark against in-region
teams. Morin has led her charges to doubleheader sweeps over No. 6
Wheaton (Mass.) and seventh-ranked Keene State. Rhode Island College
has used a combination of senior leadership and youth during its
current winning streak, which began on March 11. Freshman second
baseman Amanda Perry (New Bedford, Mass.) paces the
Anchorwomen attack, leading the squad in batting average (.613),
triples (4), home runs (2) and RBI (27), while senior first baseman
Christie Lotti (Waterford, Conn.) ranks first in hits
(38), doubles (8), stolen bases (15), and walks (8). Freshman
starting pitcher Melanie Neece (Westfield, Mass.) posts an
11-0 record with a pair of saves in 15 appearances, allowing just 14
earned runs in 71.1 innings of work for a 1.37 earned run average.
Rhode Island College schedule heats up over the next week as the
Anchorwomen have doubleheaders against MASCAC leader Westfield State
(Apr. 17) and the third-ranked Colonials (Apr. 22). |
