With Third Straight Win |

MA-Senior
Kerry McDevitt (Jamestown, R.I.) and sophomore Emily Conte
(North Providence, R.I.) combined for 12 Rhode Island College
goals in a 17-14 win over host Nichols in non-conference women’s
lacrosse action at Vendetti Field on Thursday. The Anchorwomen
improve to 3-7 on the year while the Bison fall to 4-8. |

Rhode Island
College held a 4-2 lead before junior Jessica Porter (Melrose,
Mass.) scored three straight goals to give Nichols its first
lead, 5-4, with 11:27 left in the first half. The Anchorwomen
quickly responded with three straight goals of their own, including
two by Conte. Porter netted her fourth goal of the game before Rhode
Island College ended the half with four unanswered goals. |

McDevitt’s
fifth goal of the game gave the Anchorwomen an 11-6 lead one minute
into the second half. The Bison got to within two, 12-10, outscoring
RIC 4-1 over the next ten minutes but the Anchorwomen went on to
open up their biggest lead of the game, 16-10, with 9:27 left to

assist while Conte netted six goals of her own. Also scoring for the
Anchorwomen were senior Sydney Culbertson (North Kingstown, R.I.)
and freshman Suany Almonte (Warwick, R.I.), who each had
two goals. Senior Marissa Kielbasinski (Windsor, Conn.)
chipped in with a goal as well. |

Porter led
Nichols with eight goals in the loss. Over the last two games she
has compiled 15 goals, which now ties her with teammate Stephanie

set by Kristen Boreham in 2005. Tenczar added five goals along with
one assist to break the school record for assists in a season (11).
