PLACES
FOURTH AT SILFEN INVITATIONAL

London, CT—The
Rhode Island College men’s outdoor track and field team placed
fourth (13 teams) with a score of 73.0 at the Silfen Invitational,
hosted by Connecticut College on Saturday afternoon. |

Senior
Mike Van Gieson (Foster, RI) placed first in the 800 meters with
a time of 1:55.81. |

Junior Dante Lopardo (Johnston, RI) placed
first in the high jump with a 1.96-meter effort. He also placed
third in the triple jump (13.12m) and seventh in the long jump
(6.24m). |

Freshman Mike Macedo (North Scituate, RI)
placed first in the 10,000 meters with a time of 34:17.97. He also
placed fifth in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:09.65. |

second in the discus with a 38.83-meter effort. |
