ON NFCA ALL-REGION TEAMS

student-athletes named to the 2008 Louisville Slugger/National
Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-New England Region All-Star
Teams |

Senior first baseman
Christie Lotti (Waterford, CT) was named First Team All-New
England. She has played in 40 games, starting all of them. Lotti is
batting .449 (61-for-136) with 55 runs scored, 10 doubles, three
triples, two home runs, 27 RBI and 21 stolen bases. She owns a .610
slugging percentage, a .531 on-base percentage and a .990 fielding
percentage. Lotti holds 13 Rhode Island College career records and
eight single-season marks. |

Senior third baseman
Krystal Bilek (Fitchburg, MA) was named Second Team All-New
England. She has played in 26 games, starting 24 of them. Bilek is
batting .448 (30-for-67) with 18 runs scored, eight doubles, three
home runs, 29 RBI and two stolen bases. She owns a .701 slugging
percentage, a .575 on-base percentage and a .957 fielding
percentage. Bilek was named the 2008 Little East Conference Softball
Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player. |

Freshman second baseman
Amanda Perry (New Bedford, MA) was named Third Team All-New
England as an At-Large selection. She has played in 39 games,
starting 36 of them. Perry is batting .434 (49-for-113) with 39 runs
scored, nine doubles, four triples, three home runs, 36 RBI and
three stolen bases. She owns a .664 slugging percentage, a .480
on-base percentage and a .929 fielding percentage. |

Freshman catcher/designated
player/third baseman Kayla Jandreau (Plainville CT) was named
Third Team All-New England as an At-Large selection. She has played
in 39 games, starting 36 of them. Jandreau is batting .398
(43-for-108) with 36 runs scored, five doubles, four triples, four
home runs, 32 RBI and five stolen bases. She owns a .630 slugging
percentage, a .472 on-base percentage and a .953 fielding
percentage. |

Head Coach Maria Morin’s
Anchorwomen are currently 33-7 and captured their fourth consecutive
Little East Conference Regular Season Championship, sharing the
title with Eastern Connecticut, with a 12-2 league mark. RIC was
undefeated, going 4-0, en route to winning its third straight Little
East Conference Softball Tournament this past weekend. Rhode Island
College is currently the top seed in the 2008 NCAA Div. III New
England Region Softball Tournament and will see action on Thursday,
Apr. 8 at 4 p.m. against the winner of the Lesley vs. Wellesley (10
a.m.) game. |
