Providence, RI—The
Rhode Island College men’s basketball team debuted at No. 24 in the
latest edition of the D3Hoops.com Top 25 national poll. The
Anchormen have received at least one vote in the past 17 national
listings, including No. 15 ranking in the final 2006-2007 poll. |
|
|
|
The
D3Hoops.com national poll is voted on weekly by a 25-person panel
consisting of coaches, sports information directors, and media
members. |

“Being
nationally ranked is great recognition for Rhode Island College and
our program, but it really has no effect on the task at hand for
this team, which is to improve every day and try and win our next
game,” said Head Coach Bob Walsh. |
|
|
|
Walsh has led
his charges to a 3-0 overall record this season, including capturing
the Wesleyan University Tip-Off Tournament title. Rhode Island
College has defeated its past three oppositions by an average margin
of seven points, while limiting its opposition to 37.8 percent
shooting from the floor. The Anchormen have posted victories over
Western New England, Springfield, and Bridgewater State.
