Hill Named Little East Conference
Men’s Basketball Player of the Week |

Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College junior guard Tirrell Hill (Bronx, NY) was
named the Little East Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
for his performance in three games last week. |

|
|
Hill averaged
23.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game in a
3-0 week for the Anchormen. He shot 42 percent from the field
(17-for-41), 48 percent from three-point land (12-for-25) and 86
percent from the free throw line (24-for-28). Hill scored a
career-high 29 points in the Anchormen’s, 96-91, overtime win at No.
16 Keene State on Saturday, Dec. 8. Hill was 16-for-20 from the
charity stripe, tying the third and fourth marks for free throws
made and attempted, respectively, in RIC men’s basketball history.
He scored 19 points, shooting 6-for-10 from the field and 5-for-6
from downtown, to go along with four boards and two steals, in the
Anchormen’s, 82-75, win over Johnson & Wales on Tuesday, Dec. 4. |

For the
season, Hill has played in eight games, starting seven of them. He
is averaging 15.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.1 steals
per game. |

Head Coach
Bob Walsh’s is 7-1 overall and 2-0 in the Little East
Conference. In upcoming action, RIC will wrap up the fall semester
at Trinity on Tuesday, Dec. 11 and at Springfield on Friday, Dec. 14
before breaking for finals and the holidays. |
