Flemming Breaks School Record For
Second Straight Week as Anchorwomen Place Sixth at URI Mega Meet
|

North
Kingstown, RI—Rhode
Island College sophomore Steina Flemming (Tortola, BVI) broke
her own school record, established last Saturday, in the 55 meters
with a time of 7.31 at the University of Rhode Island’s women’s
indoor track and field Mega Meet. The Anchorwomen placed sixth
(seven teams) with 15.0 points, while the hosts won the meet with a
team score of 249.50. |

Flemming was a
provisional qualifier to the NCAA Div. III Women’s Indoor Track and
Field Championships with a 7.32 effort at the Wesleyan Invitational
on Jan. 26. |

|
|
Junior
Kayla Fleming (Pawtucket, RI) placed third in the high jump with
a leap of 1.60 meters and eighth in the 1,000 meters with a time of
3:07.09. |
|
|
|
Sophomore
Stephanie Bucci (Smithfield, RI) placed 10th in the
hammer and 13th in the shot with efforts of 12.44 and
9.93 meters, respectively. |
|
|
|
In upcoming
action, Head Coach Kevin Jackson’s team will compete at the
Boston University Valentine Invitational on Saturday, February 9. |
