RIC MEN’S TRACK & FIELD COMPETES
AT
BOSTON UNIVERSITY’S VALENTINE INVITATIONAL

Boston,
MA—The
Rhode Island College men’s indoor track and field team competed at
Boston University’s Valentine Invitational on Saturday, February 9.
It was an individual meet with no team scoring. |
|
|
|
Sophomore
Max Willett (Portsmouth, RI) placed 16th in the
high jump and 39th in the long jump with leaps of 1.88
and 5.99 meters, respectively. |

Dante Lopardo (Johnston, RI) placed 19th in the high
jump with a 1.88-meter effort. |

Mike Van Gieson (Foster, RI) and junior Hunter Stewart
(Foster, RI) placed 32nd and 35th in the
500 meters with times of 1:06.76 and 1:07.09, respectively. |

Alex Burakoff (Stoughton, MA) placed 50th in the shot
at 12.07 meters, while senior James Polak (Smithfield, RI)
ranked 61st in the weight throw at 11.37 meters. |

|
Sophomore
Kwame Gyampo (Providence, RI) placed 81st in the 55
meters and 125th in the 200 meters with times of 6.98 and
23.46, respectively. |
|
|
|
Junior
Greg Ahnrud (Chepachet, RI) placed 120th in the 800
meters with a time of 2:01.27, while freshman Mike Macedo (North
Scituate, RI) placed 143rd in the 3,000 meters with a
time of 9:27.90. |
|
|
|
In upcoming
action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Little East
Conference/MASCAC Alliance Championships, hosted by Southern Maine
on Saturday, February 16. |
