Island College freshman 149 lbs. Kevin Sutherland (Dauphin, PA)
was named the Pilgrim Wrestling League’s Rookie of the Week. |

He went 3-0
to improve his record to 25-9 overall to go along with 38 takedowns.
11 reversals, 25 near-falls and four pins. Sutherland was ranked No.
6 in New England in his weight class as of the latest NEWA poll. |

Head Coach
Jay Jones’ team is 14-3 overall, 9-2 against New England
Wrestling Association (NEWA) opponents and 3-1 in the Pilgrim
Wrestling League. In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will
compete at Johnson & Wales on Tuesday, Feb. 12 in a battle of two
NEWA heavyweights. |
