Rhode Island College Women’s Volleyball Update #4

(9-9 Overall, 2-2 in the Little East Conference)

Providence, RI--Head Coach Craig Letourneau’s team is 9-9 overall and 2-2 in the Little East Conference. The Anchorwomen captured the RIC Invitational title this week (see photo below), defeating Framingham State 3-1 in the championship match on Oct. 5. They also defeated Anna Maria 3-1 and Newbury 3-0 on Oct. 4.

Junior setter Jillian Krebs (Warwick, RI) has played in 66 games in 18 matches. She has 77 kills (1.167/game), a .183 hitting percentage, 252 assists (3.818/game), 18 service aces (0.273/game), 159 digs (2.409/game), and 25 blocks (0.379/game). Krebs was named the MVP at the RIC Invitational.

Senior outside hitter Stephanie Callaghan (Warwick, RI) has played in 66 games in 18 matches. She has 71 kills (1.076/game), a .198 hitting percentage, nine assists (0.136/game), 17 service aces (0.258/game), 100 digs (1.515/game), and 12 blocks (0.182/game). She was named to the All-Tournament Team at the RIC Invitational.

Sophomore outside hitter Amanda Yanski (Woonsocket, RI) has played in 66 games in 18 matches. She has 197 kills (2.985/game), a .284 hitting percentage, four assists (0.061/game), 31 service aces (0.470/game), 75 digs (1.136/game), and 28 blocks (0.424/game). She was named to the All-Tournament Team at the RIC Invitational.

Freshman setter Mia Shaffer (Johnston, RI) has played in 66 games in 18 matches. She has 66 kills (1.000 /game), a .055 hitting percentage, 299 assists (4.530/game), 48 service aces (0.727/game), 124 digs (1.879/game), and 15 blocks (0.227/game).
