Pora and McCalligett to Captain
Rhode Island College Women’s Indoor Track |

|
Providence, RI— Rhode
Island College junior Joanne Pora (Attleboro, MA) and
sophomore Kate McCalligett (Warwick, RI) will captain the
women’s indoor track team for the 2002-03 season. |
|
|
|
As a sophomore in
2001-02, Pora placed sixth in the weight throw at the Brandeis
Invitational with a season-best distance of 37’05.25". She
also recorded a season-best throw of 28’11.75" in the shot at
the same meet. |
|
|
|
She is a nursing major
and 1999 graduate of Attleboro High School. |
|
|
|
As a freshman in 2001-02,
McCalligett earned All-New England honors, placing seventh in the
400 meters with a school record time of 1:00.37 at the New England
Div. III Championships. She also placed ninth in the 200 meter dash
with a time of 27.40 at that same meet. McCalligett earned
All-Alliance/Little East honors in both the 200 and 400 meters at
the Alliance Championships. She placed second in the 400 meters with
a time of 1:00.73 and third in the 200 meters with a season-best
time of 27.25. |

the Brown Invitational. |
