Emmanuel Karngar and Marc Piette Earn
Little East Conference Weekly Awards

Providence, RI—Rhode Island College freshman Emmanuel Karngar (Providence, RI) was named the Little East Conference’s Track Athlete of the Week and his teammate, sophomore Marc Piette (Woonsocket, RI), was named the LEC’s Field Athlete of the Week.

Karngar captured the open 800 meters at the Greater Boston Track Club Invitational with a time of 1:54.17. The 33-member field featured a host of Div. I and post-collegiate athletes. He is a 2002 graduate of Shea High School.

Piette threw the 35-lb weight 48’11.50" to place third among ten competitors at the Greater Boston Track Club Invitational. Only a pair of unattached performers surpassed Piette, who finished first among collegians. He is a physical education major and a 2000 graduate of Woonsocket High School.

In upcoming action, Head Coach Kevin Jackson’s team will compete at the Boston University Terrier Invitational on Friday and Saturday, Jan.24-25.
