Rhode Island College Men’s Indoor Track Update #6

Providence, RI--Head Coach Kevin Jackson’s team competed at the Southern Maine Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 1. RIC finished second with a team score of 70. Bates won the event with a score of 222.

Freshman Emmanuel Karngar (Providence, RI) placed first in the 400 meters with a school-record time of 51:21.

Junior James Peluso (Johnston, RI) placed second in the pole vault with a 12’.00.00" effort.

Junior Tim Rudd (Warwick, RI) placed third in the 800 meters with a time of 1:57.37.

Junior Charles Kuti (Providence, RI) finished third in the 55 meters with a time of 6.92. He placed eighth in the 200 meters with a time of 25.14. He placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 19’03.25".

Sophomore Joe Parenteau (Smithfield, RI) placed fifth in the mile with a time of 4:31.21. He placed seventh in the 800 meters with a time of 2:01.79.

Sophomore Marc Piette (Woonsocket, RI) placed third in the shot put with a distance of 41’02.50". He placed fourth in the weight throw with a distance of 48’00.50".

Junior Mike Basilico (Johnston, RI) placed fifth in the 5,000 meters with a time of 16:14.23.

Sophomore Nicholas Heufelder (Falmouth, MA) placed eighth in the long jump with a leap of 17’02.75". He placed fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 36’04.75".

Sophomore Josh Precourt (Woonsocket, RI) placed tenth in the 400 meters with a time of 55.02.

Freshman Nick Palazzo (Providence, RI) placed 17th in the shot with a distance of 29’06.50". He placed ninth in the weight throw with a distance of 42’11.00".

Freshman Richard Palazzo (Providence, RI) placed 18th in the shot with a distance of 26’10.50". He placed 15th in the shot with a distance of 36’03.50".

Junior Joseph Padykula (Seekonk, MA) placed 12th in the shot with a distance of 33’09.25". He placed 16th in the weight with a distance of 35’05.75".

Sophomore German Cardona (Pawtucket, RI) placed tenth in the preliminary round of the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.30. He placed 11th in the 200 meters with a time of 25.52.

Senior Brian Carney (Barrington, RI) placed 17th in the 400 meters with a time of 1:02.09. He placed ninth in the long jump with a leap of 17’00.00".

Freshman Michael Januario (Bristol, RI) placed 12th in the preliminary round of the 55 meters with a time of 7.38. He finished 17th in the 200 meters with a time of 26.99.

Freshman Derek Freitas (North Kingstown) placed 17th in the mile with a time of 5:19.67. He placed 19th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:22.89.

Sophomore Chris Fernandes (Cumberland, RI) placed tenth in the 200 meters with a time of 25.37. He placed sixth in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 9.17.

Senior Robert Wahnon (Framingham, MA) placed 20th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:25.60
