Rhode Island College Women’s Indoor Track Update #6

Providence, RI--Head Coach Kevin Jackson’s team competed at the Southern Maine Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 1. RIC finished fourth with a team score of 77. Southern Maine won the event with a score of 122.50.

Freshman Dana Skorupa (Cumberland, RI) placed first in the 55 meters with a time of 7.70 and second in the 200 meters with a time of 27.22. She placed third in the 400 meters with a time of 1:02.45. She placed fourth in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 9.43.

Sophomore Kate McCalligett (Warwick, RI) placed third in the 55 meter dash with a time of 7:86. She placed third in the 200 meters with a time of 27.27. She placed second in the 400 meters with a time of 1:01.02.

Sophomore Courtney Gardiner (Warwick, RI) placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 14’08.75". She placed sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 30’09.00".

Freshman Kim Cadden (Warwick, RI) placed fourth in the mile with a time of 5:30.24. She placed tenth in 800 meters with a time of 2:33.07.

Junior Michele Dunphy (Cranston, RI) placed 12th in the 400 meters with a time of 1:08.47.

Sophomore Jessica Leonard (Warwick, RI) placed tenth in the shot with a distance of 25’11.50". She placed seventh in the weight throw with a distance of 37’06.00".

Junior Joanne Pora (Attleboro, MA) placed eighth in the shot with a distance of 27’01.00". She placed fifth in the weight throw with a distance of 34’07.50".

Freshman Allison DeRoy (Smithfield, RI) placed tenth in the shot with a distance of 19’10.25".

Freshman Bridget Hjerpe (Cranston, RI) placed eighth in the 3,000 meters with a time of 12:03.50

Sophomore Rebecca Horton (Seekonk, MA) placed 11th in the mile with a time of 6:02.90.

Freshman Tiffany Kirch (Hope, RI) placed 21st the 200 meters with a time of 34.94.

Freshman Dana Schmidt (North Scituate, RI) placed 20th in the 200 meters with a time of 33.53.

Freshman Monique Gonsalves (Rumford, RI) placed 13th in the preliminary round of the 55 meters with a time of 8.75.

Freshman Temitayo Adenodi (Woonsocket, RI) placed eighth in the 55 meter dash with a time of 8.25. She placed 16th in the 200 meters with a time of 30.64.
