Women’s Indoor Tracksters Qualify for New England Championships
|
|
|
|
Providence, RI—Five
members of the Rhode Island College women’s indoor track and field
team have qualified for the 2003 Div. III New England Championships,
which will be held at Bowdoin College on Friday and Saturday, Feb.
21-22. |

|
Sophomore
Kate McCalligett (Warwick, RI) has qualified in the 200 and 400
meters, as well as part of the 4 x 200 meter relay team.
McCalligett earned All-Alliance/Little East honors in both the 400 and
200 meters at the Alliance Championship on Feb. 15. She placed second
in the 400 meters with a time of 61:32 and fourth in the 200 meters
with a time of 27.18. |

Freshman
Dana Skorupa (Cumberland,
RI)
has qualified in the 55 and 400 meters as well as part
of the 4 x 200 meter relay team. Skorupa earned
All-Alliance/Little East honors in the 55 meters, placing second with
a time 7.73. Skorupa also placed ninth in the 200
meters with a time of 27.67. |

Courtney Gardiner (Warwick,
RI) and freshman
Temitayo Adenodi (Woonsocket,
RI)
have qualified as part of the 4 x 200 meter relay team. |

Sophomore
Jessica Leonard (Warwick, RI) has qualified in the weight throw.
Leonard earned All-Alliance/Little East honors in the weight throw,
placing sixth with a distance of 39’06.50” at the Alliance
Championship on Feb. 15. |
