RIC Women’s Indoor Tracksters Qualify for ECAC Championships

Providence, RI—Four members of the Rhode Island College women’s indoor track and field team have qualified for the 2003 ECAC Div. III Championships, which will be held at Tufts University on Friday and Saturday, Mar. 7-8.

Sophomore Kate McCalligett (Warwick, RI) has qualified in the 400 meters, as well as part of the 4 x 200 meter relay team. She earned All-New England honors in the 400 meters, placing eighth with a time of 1:01.02, at the New England Div. III Championships on Feb. 22. McCalligett earned All-Alliance/Little East honors in both the 400 and 200 meters at the Alliance Championship on Feb. 15. She placed second in the 400 meters with a time of 61:32 and fourth in the 200 meters with a time of 27.18.

Freshman Dana Skorupa (Cumberland, RI), along with sophomore Courtney Gardiner (Warwick, RI) and freshman Temitayo Adenodi (Woonsocket, RI) have qualified as part of the 4 x 200 meter relay team.
