Community Service

In recognition of the College's commitment to teacher education programs and community service professionals, the Rhode Island College Foundation was awarded a permanent endowment by the Feinstein Foundation in 1997.In keeping with the spirit of the endowment, the newly created Feinstein School of Education and Human Development instituted a community service requirement of 25 hours for all initial certification and second degree teacher candidates. This requirement offers teacher candidates the opportunity to serve others in the pursuit of learning and contributes to their development as productive, caring members of society.
