Committee Description
ACADEMIC TECHNOLOGY ADVISORY COMMITTEE
A. Powers and Duties
The Committee shall:
1) Serve in an advisory capacity to the Assistant Vice President for Information Services, the Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Council on academic computing matters and on matters of academic strategic planning which involve technology.
2) Serve as a communication link among faculty, staff, students, administration and the directors of departments providing technology resources and service
B. Membership
1. The Committee shall consist of 14 members:
- Six faculty members, at least one from each school and one at-large appointed by the Committee on Committees for staggered two-year terms
- Director of Adams Library or designee
- Manager of Instructional Technology Support and Training or designee
- Director, User Support Services or designee
- Director, Center for Teaching and Learning or designee
- Director, Network and Telecommunications (ex-officio)
- Director, Management Information Services (ex-officio)
- Vice-President for Academic Affairs or faculty designee (ex-officio)
- Asst. Vice President for Information Services or designee (ex-officio)
- One undergraduate student, appointed by the Student Community Government for a one-year term
- One graduate student, appointed by the Vice President for Academic Affairs for a one-year term
2. The Chair of the Committee, who must be a faculty member, shall be elected each September by the Committee members.
