Licensed Mental Health Counselor Questionnaire

Thank you for accessing the Outside LinkLicensed Mental Health Counselor Questionnaire. It is designed for Rhode Island licensed mental health counselors to participate in a study co-sponsored by Rhode Island College (RIC) and Rhode Island Mental Health Counselors’ Association (RIMHCA) and is partially funded by a Rhode Island College Faculty Research Grant.

This study is about membership in professional counseling associations; the relationship between membership and feelings of professional competence; and the possible functions of and barriers to joining RIMHCA. When you access the survey, you will be asked to provide some demographic information, answer questions about professional organizations, and rate your feelings of competence in 4 areas: service to clients; legislation, standards, codes, and guidelines; insurance; and supervisory activities.

Information will be collected anonymously, and your contact information, if provided at the end of the survey, will be handled independently and confidentially from your responses to the online questionnaire.  It will be deleted upon completion of this study unless you have provided your consent to be contacted by RIC or RIMHCA.  There is no risk more than everyday life to you by participating in this study. There are no direct benefits to you if you participate. Participation is entirely voluntary and your decision to participate will not affect your relationship with RIC or RIMHCA.  You may decide to terminate your participation at any time without penalty.  Thank you very much in advance.

We  appreciate your assistance with this study. This study is the collaborative effort of 4 fellow licensed mental health counselors Monica Darcy, Kelly Adams, Carol Kenyon Parker, and Nahid Abed, and Dr. Kalina Brabeck, Assistant Professor in Counseling at RIC.

We value your input. If you have questions, please contact Ginny Porter at vporter@ric.edu or 456-8023.
