About Disability Services Center
The Disability Services Center is the central location on campus for disability-related needs and is committed to providing accommodations for students with disabling conditions and supporting them in achieving their academic goals. Students who self-identify and provide the Disability Services Center appropriate evidence of their disability (see Disability Verification Documentation) are eligible to receive reasonable accommodations in accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and analogous state laws.
The Disability Services Center serves students with all types of disabilities: mobility, hearing, vision, motor, psychological, learning (including attention disorders), speech, chronic medical, and other conditions. Although individuals with temporary impairments do not qualify for protection under the Americans with Disabilities Act, Rhode Island College nevertheless attempts to assist students who need short-term accommodations.
As the initial contact point for students with disabilities, the Disability Services Center endeavors to make students aware of the many opportunities and resources available to them. Support services may include classroom and testing accommodations, advisement, referrals, and use of assistive technology. The office not only serves as an advocate for students with disabilities, but also encourages students toward self-advocacy.

Therefore, even if you sent your documentation to another office or department at Rhode Island College (including Admissions), you must still submit this information to the Disability Services Center.
