Program Goals

Upon completion of either the BA in Economics or the BS in Finance students are expected to:

• Demonstrate an understanding of the core knowledge of the discipline.
• Demonstrate the ability, both independently and in groups, to find relevant economic and/or financial data and use it appropriately, including statistical and other quantitative analysis.
• Demonstrate the ability to read comprehend, synthesize, and critically evaluate economic amd/or financial literature.
• Demonstrate the ability to write in a manner appropriate to the discipline, and critically evaluate their own work and the work of others.
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate their knowledge in oral presentations.
• Be prepared to do graduate-level work if they wish to attend graduate school.
• Find their training in economics and/or finance to be useful to them in their careers if they wish to seek employment.
