Development and content of curriculum for early care and education through the primary grades is examined in terms of research, trends, play, inquiry, national standards, and program models. Web-based hybrid course. A mixture of on-campus and on-line class meetings.

ECED 503: Infants and Toddlers in Group Care

Components of quality group care for infants and toddlers are analyzed. Topics include professional responsibilities, health and safety routines, appropriate materials and environments, and legal issues for child care providers. Web-based on-line class.

ECED 509: Emergent Literacy: Infants through Grade Two

Wednesday, 4:00-6:50 PM Call number for registration purposes: 10550

Students learn how to help young children acquire an interest in reading and learn the necessary concepts concerning print and books.
