Preparing to Teach

This section of the website is for our RIC candidates who are preparing to student teach. All of the Department of Elementary Education requirements for your Preparing to Teach Portfolio can be found at this site.

All students must complete the Preparing to Teach Portfolio and submit it in its entirety the semester before student teaching. The Preparing to Teach Portfolio Requirements is a handout that describes what must be included in your portfolio. Also included in that handout is the prompt for your Reflective Essay.

Whether you are Elementary Undergraduate, Elementary MAT, Elementary Second Degree, Early Childhood Undergraduate, Early Childhood Second Degree you will find the information you need regarding the portfolio requirements. If you are seeking Middle Level Endorsement, you will also complete a documentation list, which can be found at this site.

Good luck to you as you put all of your artifacts, rubrics, checklists, and transcripts together. If you have any questions the Department of Elementary Education (456-8016) is just a phone call away.

In any given semester, the deadlines for the Reflective Essay and the Preparing to Teach Portfolio will be posted in the Elementary Education Office as well as around the Mann Building.

Exit

This section of the website is for our RIC candidates who are student teaching. All of the Department of Elementary Education requirements for your Exit Portfolio can be found at this site.

Student teachers will work on and submit the Exit Portfolio to their Cooperating Teacher and their College Supervisor.
The ELED and ECED Exit Portfolio General Information is a handout that describes what must be included in your Exit Portfolio.

Your College Supervisor will also work with you on all of these pieces.
