English Club

The English Club—for English majors and minors in any curriculum (liberal arts, secondary education, or elementary education)—was revived during the spring of 2007, having been moribund for a few years. Spring 2007 events included a pizza party and viewing of a short, funny movie on Shakespeare's Complete Works, a session with Dr. Stephen Brown on applying to graduate school, and several meetings focused on becoming an official student organization. The early fall 2007 agenda included completing the final necessary steps to become an official RIC student organization, which happened during the Student Parliament meeting the first week of October. The English Club is now finishing the steps necessary to establish a branch of Sigma Tau Delta, the national English honor society, at RIC.

The English Club meets most Wednesdays, 12:30-2 pm in Craig Lee 255. To get on the email list, contact ricenglishclub@gmail.com.

Do you have an issue, comment, suggestion, or concern? Then let Student Parliament know about it! At every Parliament meeting, any student has the opportunity to engage in our new Open Forum. Sign up by stopping by or contacting the Student Community Government Office.
At any scheduled Wednesday night Parliament meeting, you'll have 2 minutes to let all of Parliament know about what is concerning you. SCG will then investigate any issue you bring up for extended discussion at the next meeting. Open Forum is the best way for you to personally raise an issue that you care about with every student leader on Parliament - please take advantage of it!

Leadership Weekend
Student Community Government and the Office of Student Activities host an annual Leadership Weekend Retreat during the spring semester, which always promises to be a GREAT experience!
