Discipline Resources
Introduction
Listed below are World Wide Web sites that should be of particular interest to non-biology majors who are taking a required course in biology. Why is it required? One answer is that biology affects a variety of other disciplines-- and the reverse is true also.
The web sites below are only a small example of cases where biology and other disciplines overlap. Ever wonder what kind of music could be produced if it was read from DNA molecules? What about the anatomical art of da Vinci? Or the biomathematical spiral patterns of seeds in a sunflower? Or...
The list is almost endless, and many more can be found if your are curious.
This is a non-exhaustive listing and work on it has just begun. Many more sites can be found by entering search words such as "biology and" the discipline in search engines such as dogpile, alltheweb, google, or any of the many others that are available. Any suggestions for additional sites or corrections to these would be welcomed here.
