Mikaila Mariel Lemonik Arthur is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Rhode Island College. She earned her Ph.D. and M.A. in sociology at New York University and her B.A. in sociology at Mount Holyoke College. She teaches courses on race, research methods, education, social movements, and law & society, among other things. Her current research is about insider activism in institutions, with a particular focus on the ways in which students and faculty in colleges and universities advocate for and create curricular change.
