I am also the editor of Critical Mass, the section newsletter of the American Sociological Association Section on Collective Behavior and Social Movements. For the 2008 American Sociological Association meetings, I will be co-organizing a session on the history of sociological pedagogy. My past editorial activities include a term as assistant editor for Sociological Forum; I have also served as a reviewer for Teaching Sociology, Sociological Quarterly, Teachers College Record, W.W. Norton Publishers, Oxford University Press, and National Evaluation Systems, among other publishers and publications.

At Rhode Island College:
I am currently the Sociology Department representative to the College Honors Committee and serve as the departmental website coordinator.

At New York University:
I served for two years as the student coordinator for the New York University Sociology Department Workshop on Power, Politics, and Protest, a forum for faculty and students to present and receive feedback on their work. Within the sociology department, I served as co-chair of the Graduate Student Association and was also part of the graduate curriculum committee, the graduate student conference, and the job placement committee.

In the university more broadly, I served as a mentor for teaching assistants and have co-lead the orientation for new teaching assistants through the Graduate Student Educational Development Program. I was also a member of the organizing committee of GSOC/UAW Local 2110.
