Feinstein School of Education and Human Development

The Feinstein School of Education and Human Development (FSEHD) is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation for Teacher Education (NCATE) and approved by the Rhode Island Department of Education to provide programs that prepare education and human service professionals for careers in school and agency settings. The School is committed to teaching for excellence and lifelong learning. Faculty members in the Feinstein School of Education and Human Development are noted for involvement in PK-12 education, contribution to the theory and practice of teaching and learning, and participation in professional service.


Procedure Concerning Criminal Background Checks

Beginning in January 2010, ALL individuals who are enrolled in the Feinstein School of Education and Human Development courses that require contact with children/youth are required to undergo the Rhode Island criminal background check (BCI) process.

Henry Barnard School

A laboratory school within the FSEHD that is a site for candidate field experience, research, professional development, and curriculum development.

Office of Partnerships & Placements

The Office of Partnerships and Placements is responsible for administering and developing experience in teacher education that connect theoretical knowledge and professional application.
