Registration for Spring 2010 Honors Classes

Registration for Spring 2010 classes officially begins on Monday, October 26. Students must register for honors classes in person with Dr. Hall in CL 368. First come, first served. In addition to his regular office hours, Dr. Hall will be in his office from 9-12 and 1-3 on October 26 and from 9-12 on Wednesday, October 28 to register students. After October 28, students may register for honors classes at any time for the rest of the semester in person or by email.

Upper-division honors students and those with particular scheduling needs or requirements may see Dr. Hall prior to October 26. Students should check the Class Schedules and Course Descriptions for Spring 2010 on this website.

Students may not register for honors classes online. Honors classes will be listed as "closed" even if they are not.

Free Bus Trip to NYC on Saturday, November 7

Honors students are invited to join the Arts and Society Learning Group in a trip to New York City and the Guggenheim Museum. The bus will leave RIC about 7am and return about 10pm. Although honors students are encouraged to visit the museum with the Arts and Society students, it is not required, and they may spend the day in NYC as they wish. The bus is free,  but students should bring money for food, entrance fees, purchases, etc.

The Director of Study Abroad for 2009-10 is Dr. Gale Goodwin Gomez in the Anthropology department. She can be reached at ggoodwin@ric.edu.

Ms. Dolores Passarelli, Director of OASIS, is the contact person for the National Student Exchange Program. She can be reached at dpassarelli@ric.edu.

Honors students interested in either of these programs should contact the appropriate person.

National Society of Collegiate Scholars

The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) is an honor organization that focuses on scholarship, leadership, and service. Students with GPA's of 3.4 or higher and who rank in the top 20% of their class are automatically invited to join during the freshman/sophomore years. NSCS has chapters at 229 colleges and universities nationwide.For more information about the NSCS, check their website at Outside Linkwww.nscs.org.
