  • Standard 1: Mentors share life experience and knowledge to build relationships with Mentees.
  • Standard 2: Mentors assist Mentees with math skills improvement using their understanding of central concepts.
  • Standard 3: Using knowledge from their Concepts of Education and Mathematics for Elementary School Teachers I & II courses, Mentors take an informed approach to improving math skills.
  • Standards 4 and 5: Mentors tailor math games to the individual learner.
  • Standard 6: Mentors build positive, reinforcing relationships with Mentees.
  • Standard 9: Mentors monitor Mentee performance on math tests and quizzes.
  • Standard 10: Mentors reflect on their weekly interactions with Mentees and observable improvements in math skills and social behaviors during reflection sessions with Math Academy teachers.
  • Standard 11: Mentors adhere to school policies, rules of confidentiality, and standards of instruction.
