Shani Carter
Academic Background
Dr. Carter is an Associate Professor of Management and has been at Rhode Island College since the fall 2001. She received a Ph.D. in Personnel/Human Resource Studies, Labor Economics, and Research Methods from Cornell University, a M.S. in Personnel/Human Resource Studies and Labor Economics from Cornell University, and a B.A. in Government from Cornell University.
She teaches Human Resources, Compensation, Labor Relations, Foundations of Management, Organizational Theory, and Business, Government, and Society. She also has taught Human Resources Information Systems, Individual Behavior, Recruitment and Staffing, Professional Contribution, Human Resources Policies, Macro Human Resources, Training and Development, Statistics / Research Methods, and Business Communication.
She has published articles on training methods, factors of cognitive ability, affect, skill certification, measurement, student learning outcomes assessment, coefficient alpha, skills shortages, and government labor force projections.
