Useful Information

The dates for MIRIC 2019 are July 7-12.

ID Cards

Permanently engraved ID Cards will be issued to each student on check-in day and must be worn at all times. If you lose your ID Card you will be required to purchase another one for $1.00. Other charges may be incurred.

Immediately after check-in, all students will audition for chair seating.

General Meeting

We will meet in room 198 of the Nazarian Center at 9:30-10:00 a.m.  on the first day of the institute to provide information and answer questions. Parents are invited to stay for this meeting if they choose.

The lunch is not provided. You can bring your own lunch or you can purchase it at the Donovan Student Center (3 min walk from Nazarian center on the RI College campus accompanied by faculty members or student-assistant).

Bring a padlock of your own. You may choose an instrument locker on Sunday. Keep locker locked at all times. Do not bring valuable items such as jewelry to the camp. All instruments and other items should be kept in the provided locker.

The Campus Police Office is located in the Welcome Center. It is staffed 24/7. The phone number for Campus Police is 401-456-8888.

Health Care

All students MUST fill out the enclosed Health Form. Students will not be allowed to check into MIRIC without a valid Health Form. Parents will be contacted by the Resident Director if any health issues arise during the week. RIC Campus Police will also be called for anyone requiring emergency medical attention.

All belongings, especially instruments and bags, should be plainly marked with your name. Although Rhode Island College will use reasonable effort to protect student property, we are not in any way liable for the loss, theft or damage of any property belonging to students. Rhode Island College does not have insurance coverage on students' property. Students are encouraged to insure their property through a private insurance company.

Air Conditioning

Our rehearsal facilities are air-conditioned quite well -- you may want to have a light sweatshirt if you tend to get cold.

MIRIC will conclude with a concert in the Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts at Rhode Island College on Friday, July 12. The concert is free and open to the public.

Attendance will be taken at the beginning of each day. Dismissal each day will be at 5:00 pm. Commuters needing disciplining while waiting for parents may be sent home.
