Background

John Sumerlin is a Professor of Music at Rhode Island College, where he teaches applied violin and viola, conducts the Rhode Island College Chamber Orchestra, and is Director of Chamber Music. He performs with Trio Rhode (RI College faculty), as a recitalist, and as Concertmaster of the RI College Symphony Orchestra. Also a composer, his three-act opera AIR was given its professional World Premiere performance at RI College in 2002.
