R.I. Business Leadership Network forum on Hiring and Retaining Veterans, Nov. 9
Learn how to recruit, hire and retain veterans at the forum “Hiring and Retaining Veterans,” a Rhode Island Business Leadership forum presented in cooperation with the Veteran’s Administration. The event will be held Tuesday, Nov. 9, from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at the New England Institute of Technology, Hall of Fame Room, 2480 Post Road, Warwick.
The forum will offer employers and human resource professionals the opportunity to learn about local resources available to them, their veteran employee, and the employee’s family. Resources to support hiring and retaining veterans with disabilities will also be discussed.

• Employing veterans with disabilities, including job accommodation
• How military duties have transferable skills to the civilian workforce
• Employment resources available to veterans
• Resources to support employees being deployed
• Resources for families
Panel members include Micaela Black, Dept. of Veterans Affairs; Nicole Hosford, Providence VA Medical Center; Brian LaFauci, Employer Support of the Guard & Reserve (ESGR); James White, R.I. Dept. of Labor & Training; and a veteran representative. The local office of the Dept. of Veterans Affairs will be represented by Mr. Kim Wennermark, supervisor, Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment Division.
