RIC Chamber Orchestra, small ensembles in concert Oct. 2

John Sumerlin will conduct a recital that features music by Mendelssohn and Strauss, and includes the Concerto for Two Violins in D Minor by Bach. The second half of the program features chamber works by Beethoven and Schubert (the “Trout” Quintet).
Sumerlin, violinist and conductor of the RIC Chamber Orchestra, has been a professor of music at the college since 1989. He teaches violin and viola, is the head of the chamber music program, and is a founding member of Trio Rhode and Proteus String Quartet, both RIC faculty ensembles.
