Author and former student to speak at Henry Barnard, Oct. 17

She will also be donating books to the Henry Barnard School Library.
DiOrio is CEO of Little Pickle Press, a children’s media company she founded in California and publisher of her books, including “What Does It Mean To Be Global?”; “What Does It Mean To Be Green?”; and her newest release, "What Does It Mean To Be Present?"
“What Does It Mean To Be Global?” garnered a National Best Books 2009 Award (USA Book News) for Children’s Picture Book: Hardcover Nonfiction.
DiOrio has also been a private equity investor, investment banker and lawyer.
She said her curiosity about the world began in a claw-footed bathtub full of pillows in her kindergarten classroom at Henry Barnard School, where she learned about Western access to China and panda bears.
Her fourth-grade teacher, F. Haven Starr, Jr., is currently Henry Barnard’s assistant principal.
