Faculty Promotions, Tenure Announced
Rhode Island College President Nancy Carriulo has announced that eight faculty members have been elevated to the rank of professor, 15 faculty members have been elevated to the rank of associate professor and one faculty member has been elevated to the rank of assistant professor, effective July 1,2013
In addition, 17 RIC faculty have been granted tenure.
Ronald Pitt, vice president of academic affairs, said RIC was "extremely proud and excited" to recognize the faculty's excellence.
"Rhode Island College has very high standards for the hiring, tenure and promotion of its faculty," Pitt said. "We expect faculty to be excellent teachers, to be deeply engaged in their disciplines and to commit their time in service to the institution and community. This group of faculty not only meets but exceeds those standards to an amazing degree."
