The Shaolin Warriors will bring the precision of Olympic gymnasts, the grace of ballet dancers and the skill of Cirque de Soleil to RIC in a Performing Arts Series event on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the Auditorium in Roberts Hall.

More than 20 kung fu masters who have perfected the art of hand-to-hand weapons combat will demonstrate the skill, imagery and hypnotic movement of Shaolin kung fu in a fully choreographed theatrical production.

These disciples of the Shaolin schools, revered worldwide for their exacting discipline and martial-arts mastery, have trained from an early age to perform actions that seem computer enhanced, but are completely real and visually stunning.

In addition to displaying many forms of Shaolin kung fu, the performance will examine the daily life of the warriors and their Zen philosophy.

The Shaolin Warriors are “so good at what they do, it almost looks like animation,” according to the Orange County Register.

Tickets for the Shaolin Warriors are $35. Discounts are available for seniors, children, and RIC faculty/staff/students/alumni. For your convenience, tickets can be purchased in advance via Visa or MasterCard by calling (401) 456-8144 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays; online atwww.ric.edu/pfa; or in person at the Roberts Hall Box Office, which will open for sales two hours prior to performance start time.
