Faculty Research Committee

Rhode Island College provides funds for local research projects proposed by its full and part-time faculty. These awards are issued by the College's Faculty Research Committee (FRC). Additional information concerning deadline dates for proposal submission and committee procedures can be obtained from:

Submit a Proposal

To successfully submit a proposal to the Faculty Research Committee, applications for the 09-10 cycle must be received by Friday, March 6, 2009. Please review additional application details below.

Reporting Requirements

The FRC requires a final report of research activity roughly by the end of September each academic year. (Please review the application packet for report deadlines.) The following information is to be included:

1. Date report is being submitted.
2. Name.
3. Department.
4. Project title and year funded.
5. ABSTRACT (250 words or less description of your project and your progress to date).
6. Plans (completed or projected) for communicating the results of your research to scholars, students, and/or the general public.
7. Plans for incorporating your work into your teaching or related activities.
8. Sources of additional funding for your project.
9. Suggestions to the Faculty Research Committee concerning application policies and procedures, including funding categories and limitations. (Optional)

NOTE: Submission of this report is a condition of your acceptance of the grant. Should you not submit a report, the Committee will not consider your future proposals for Faculty Research Fund Grants. Please send your completed report to the address listed in the above application packet.
