About Orientation

What will I do at Orientation?

You will learn about the people, programs, and services that will make your college career more rewarding. There will be discussion groups and special programming with faculty, students, and staff. You will have the opportunity to express any questions or concerns you may have about life at Rhode Island College. You may even get answers to some questions you have not anticipated.

A very important part of Orientation is registration. You will receive academic advisement, as well as guidance in selecting and registering for your first semester college courses. If you are uncertain about this, stop worrying. Faculty and students are on hand to help you. In addition, you will be assisted by highly skilled and trained upperclassmen, your Student Peer Counselors.

Please note: As a new student you will be advised and registered for classes at your Orientation Program. You do not need to see an advisor prior to Orientation.
