Orientation Times

All new freshmen are required to attend one of seven Orientation cycles. In early June you will receive an official invitation to Orientation 2008. At that time you will be asked to choose three cycles in order of preference. All cycles will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. We will send you a confirmation with the date and time of your Orientation cycle

The 2008 Orientation cycle numbers and dates are:

Cycle 1 Monday & Tuesday, June 30 - July 1
Cycle 2 Wednesday, July 2
Cycle 3 Monday & Tuesday, July 7-8
Cycle 4 Thursday & Friday, July 10 - 11
Cycle 5 Monday & Tuesday, July 14 - 15
Cycle 6 Wednesday, July 16
Cycle 7 Thursday, July 17

Orientation check-in for cycles 1, 3, 4, and 5 begins at 8:00 am on the first day of each cycle and ends at 4:00 pm on day two. These are overnight cycles and you must stay on campus until the end of your cycle (4:00 pm on day two).

Cycles 2, 6, and 7 are each one-day cycles designed to accommodate special circumstances. Special circumstances include military service, childcare arrangements, health conditions, or unavoidable work conflicts. These cycles begin at 8:00 am and conclude at 4:00 pm.

If you live a long distance from the College and will not be able to arrive at 8:00 a.m. on the first day, please notify us at least two weeks prior to the beginning of your cycle. We will arrange for you to check into the residence hall the night before. While no formal programming will take place on this evening, you will be able to meet with Orientation leaders. Please be advised that this option is only available for students choosing an overnight (two-day) cycle.
