New Student Teaching Requirements

Any candidate admitted to FSEHD after August 24, 2009 who majors in Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education or Secondary Education and a teaching concentration in Special Education will be required to complete one full semester of student teaching in each certification area

For more information on this new requirement contact the appropriate Department Chair and program

In cooperation with the Feinstein School of Education and Human Development's teacher preparation programs, the Office of Partnerships and Placements is responsible for administering and developing programs in education that connect theoretical knowledge and professional application. There are three basic clinical programs: practicum, student teaching, and internship. Pre-service teacher preparation candidates are predominately placed in Feinstein School's partnership school districts and at our elementary laboratory school right on campus, the Henry Barnard School. Candidates seeking advanced degrees are placed in public schools and clinics, and in other public and private agencies. The Office of Partnerships and Placements provides cooperating teachers and clinical instructors with information to familiarize them with the Feinstein School of Education and Human Development's teacher preparation programs.

Please download letter of introduction from the new Assistant Dean of Partnerships and Placements, Dr. Eileen C. Sullivan, to our RIC colleagues and those in our partnership schools.
