Welcome to the Office of Partnership and Placements website for clinical instructors. We hope that you will find this site useful.
As a clinical instructor you serve a vital role in the formative stages of preparing Feinstein School of Education and Human Development's pre-service candidates. Without your willingness to open your schools and classrooms to our teacher preparation candidates, the Feinstein School's teacher preparation programs would be missing an important ingredient. The administration, faculty, and staff of the Feinstein School thank you for your continued support and participation in our efforts as we work together to prepare tomorrow's teachers.
The Teacher Education Handbook provides information about the Feinstein School of Education and Human Development's teacher preparation programs, and the criteria candidates must meet for admission and retention.
The Feinstein School of Education and Human Development has established formal partnerships with 26 Rhode Island school districts and 1 charter school. All pre-service and student teaching assignments, with several exceptions, are made only in partnership school districts. Guidelines for selecting cooperating teachers and requirements for service as a cooperating teacher are contained in the Partnership Agreement. Links to all partnership school districts, and a copy of the Partnership Agreement, are located under Partnership Information.
Teachers interested in serving as a cooperating teacher and clinical instructors must complete Rhode Island Professional Teaching Standards Training. The Office of Partnerships and Placements offers this training. Information concerning training session can be obtained from Dr. Frank Krajewski at fkrajewski@ric.edu.
