Students apply to student teach one academic year before the anticipated semester of student teaching. If you anticipate student teaching in the fall semester, you must attend a mandatory meeting conducted by the Office of School Partnerships and Field Placements the preceding fall semester. If you plan on student teaching in the spring semester, you must attend the mandatory meeting held the preceding spring. If you are not sure when to apply for student teaching, contact the Office of School Partnerships and Field Placements (HM 109) at 456-8114.
Dates, times and locations of the student teaching application meetings are posted on the Office of School Partnership and Field Placements webpage, the Feinstein School of Education and Human Development’s webpage, the Rhode Island College calendar. This information is also printed in the various Rhode Island College publications (The Anchor, What's News, The Briefs), and is also posted in teacher preparation program departments.
