RIPTS Training

The Rhode Island Department of Elementary and Secondary Education standards for teacher preparation programs include training in the Rhode Island Professional Teaching Standards(RIPTS) for cooperating teachers, practicum instructors and RIC faculty. The Feinstein School of Education and Human Development requires all cooperating teachers and clinical instructors to provide documentation that such training has been completed or to complete the training. To assist teachers, the Feinstein School of Education and Human Development provides RIPTS workshops, offered at the Student Union on the RIC campus, that provide a basic understanding of what these 11 standards are and how they are used to evaluate student teachers.

CEU credits are available and may apply toward I-Plan recertification.

All RIPTS workshops will be held in Conference Room 307 of the Student Union from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM and conducted by Dr. Frank R. Krajewski.

Refreshments will be provided by the Office of Partnerships and Placements.

Due to limited classroom space each workshop is limited to 25 participants. The first 25 applicants will be accepted. A waiting list will then be created and those on the list will be notified should cancellations occur.
